Method · how I work
Eight rules I make
the machines follow.
- 01Classify by blast radius first.
Trivial change: just do it. Foundation, schema, auth, anything irreversible: research, alternatives, a fight, then code.
- 02The source is the truth.
Memory of how an API behaves is a hypothesis. Read the migration, not the doc about it.
- 03Green tests are the floor.
Runtime evidence is the proof. Running the product has found bugs a thousand passing tests hid, every time.
- 04Every fix ships with its negative control.
Revert it, watch the symptom return, restore it, watch it vanish.
- 05Review your own diff as a hostile reviewer.
Then spawn real ones: independent skeptics whose job is to refute.
- 06Keep a durable trail.
Context compacts. A decision not written into a commit, a plan or a memory did not happen.
- 07End every task with what is verified and what is not.
Passes types, could not run the integration tests, beats false confidence.
- 08No fabricated numbers. Anywhere.
If nothing measured it, it does not go on the page.
